Our calculators use published veterinary formulas — RER (Resting Energy Requirement) for calories, AAHA/APOP guidelines for BMI, and Cell Systems epigenetic clock research for age conversion. They are accurate for general estimates but cannot replace a veterinarian's assessment of your individual pet. Your dog might need 10% more or less than the calculator says. That's why we always say: use this as a starting point for a conversation with your vet.
No. All calculator data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. It never leaves your device. We cannot see it, access it, or store it. If you clear your browser data, your calculator history disappears. We don't even have a server to store it on. It's just you and your browser.
No. PetCalCentral requires no sign-ups, no accounts, no passwords, no email verification, no "create a free account to unlock this feature." I hate that stuff. You shouldn't need an account to figure out how much to feed your dog. Just open a calculator and start using it.
Absolutely not. Our tools are for informational purposes only. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment. If your pet is sick, call a vet. If your pet has an emergency, go to an emergency clinic. Do not use a website calculator to diagnose your pet. I am not a vet. I am an IT guy with a spreadsheet.
Each calculator has a "Clear History" or "Reset" button. Click it and all your saved calculations for that tool are gone. You can also clear your browser's localStorage entirely, which will remove data from all our calculators. Your data. Your control.
